Total Time: 50 minutes
Servings: 9 brownies

ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened Dutch cocoa powder
  • 1 cup roughly crushed easter egg candies

instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Use parchment paper to line an 8x8-inch baking pan. Make sure the edges are long enough to hang over the edges for easy removals.
  • Add melted butter and sugars to a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until combined.
  • Stir in salt, espresso powder, flour, and cocoa powder until just combined. Make sure that you do not over mix.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading it into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup crushed eggs on top of the batter. You can add some whole ones too for the look!
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until brownies are just set. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out with wet crumbs.
  • Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
