In the bottom of an empty cocktail shaker, add strawberries, basil leaves, lime juice, and agave. Muddle together until strawberries are broken up.
Top with tequila and Cointreau. Add ice and shake well.
Strain into cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish and serve.

to make it a big batch (6 cocktails):1 lb strawberries, hulled 1/2 cup basil leaves 1 1/2 cups tequila 1 cup lime juice 3/4 cup cointreau or triple sec 3 Tbsp agaveMuddle strawberries, basil, lime juice and agave in the bottom of a pitcher.Add tequila, Cointreau and plenty of ice. Stir well to combine. You can either strain out the drink before serving or serve as is!
