- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup mint leaves
Cut up some of the fresh mint leaves with scissors. This will give the syrup even more flavor.
Add mint leaves to a pan with water and sugar.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and cover. Allow the mint leaves to steep in the syrup for at least 30 minutes, up to 1 hour.
Strain out the mint leaves. Cool completely before using.
Store simple syrup in an airtight container or jar in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks.
