- 1 750 mL bottle of a full bodied red wine Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, or Malbec are all good options!
- 8 oz brandy
- 1 apple any kind, thinly sliced
- 2 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- 1 tsp allspice berries
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 2- inch piece orange peel
- Garnish: orange wheels cinnamon sticks, star anise
Add all ingredients to the Instant Pot.
Cook on High pressure for 1 minutes.
Quick release steam at the end of cooking.
If you prefer not to have the whole spices and apple slices when serving, be sure to strain with a fine mesh sieve first.
Garnish with orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and star anise, as desired.
Stovetop Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a large pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer, then reduce to low heat.
Cover and cook for 15 minutes, up to 3 hours. Strain before serving and garnish as noted.
Slow Cooker Instructions
Add all ingredients to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 1 hour. Keep on Low or Warm setting throughout the evening, or as long as desired.
